How to Use Online Registration


Jump Rope is one of the most exciting and challenging activities available to athletes today.  A great way to increase COORDINATION, PHYSICAL FITNESS and to CROSS-TRAIN for other sports.  In our instructional program, each jumper will learn the fundamental techniques for jumping and fitness tools that they will be able to use throughout their athletic careers.  Since jumpers are athletes in every sense of the word, GSS’ offers a quality jump rope program that not only develops technical jumping skills but also promotes fitness and teamwork, builds self-esteem, develops confidence and leadership skills and encourages good sportsmanship.  It is also our purpose to instill a good work ethic; that excellence comes from hard work and dedication. In the end, they are rewarded by a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment that makes all of the work worthwhile.

Jumpers will learn Single Rope Skills, Partner Challenges, Speed and Power Moves, Choreographed Group Routines, Double Dutch Turning & Jumping, Stretching, Toning, Calisthenics,  Tumbling and Dance. The participant will jump rope in a challenging and goal-oriented environment while learning about teamwork and physical fitness.  Participants will develop and improve coordination and motor skills, balance, flexibility, strength, concentration, poise, posture, discipline, while learning about jumping rope with correct technique, proper equipment and progressive programs designed to gain athletic advantages in speed, quickness, agility, muscular endurance, aid in weight loss, rehabilitation and improve cardiovascular health.

Training is held in Greenbelt, MD and is available for ages five years to adult. No experience necessary.  Classes run for 180 minutes.

Early Stars -- New Members  (5 to 8 years old - required class)

  • Introduction to Jump Rope Basic Skills  


Pre-Academy Stars - New Members (9 & up - required class)

  • Introduction to Jump Rope Basic Skills & Performance Fundamentals  --  Saturday:  9:00 am to 11:30 am



  • Performance Techniques  --  Monday:  6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

  • Jump Rope Skill Development  (Level 2 & above)  --  Saturday:  12 noon to 2:30 pm

Ensemble Company

  • Performance Techniques  --  Monday:  6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

  • Performance Rehearsal  --  Wednesday:  6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

  • Jump Rope Skill Development  (Level 2 & above)  --  Saturday:  12 noon to 2:30 pm
